If anyone has their mobile contract with Excell Communications in Telford, be aware that they are in liquidation. There are 4500 customers that we are aware of that had contracts with this company which involves a cash back scheme on mobile telephone contacts.
Unfortunately I've got caught up in this and this now means that my mobile contacts are now costing £60 per month more than before. Our sevice provider is Orange. We ended up talking to Orange today and were initially told it was not their problem but this attitude now seems to be changing having spoken to one of their managers. We will see.
Be aware that when you accept a deal, as we did, through a third party, then your contact is with the third party and not the service provider.
In our situation we are in a position where we are, theoretically, tied into a contract with Orange that runs until May 2012 (17 months) that in effect will cost us an additional £1020.00 pounds. If you equate an average of £500 per customer, by doing nothing, Orange will be £2,250,000 better off off. Not bad eh!
Anyway, we'll keep you informed of developments but in the meantime if any of you have contracts with Excell Communications let us know and we will advise you on what action to take.
